Dalí Phoenix decomposes to form himself.

The myth of the Phoenix Bird is fascinating to me: this mythological bird, capable of resurging from its ashes, is an inexhaustible source of inspiration.

Indeed, just as this mythological bird perishes by fire and resurfaces from it ashes, it is a question of subjecting to fire a base created from flammable or heat sensitive materials, located on a rigid support, on which I will carry out my works. The reaction of these materials to the fire is not entirely predictable, so, their transformation will make each creation unique and unrepeatable, contrary to what happens in the technique of engraving.

Esta obra es mi homenaje particular a uno de mis pintores favoritos, Salvador Dalí. He pretendido plasmar la fuerza de su mirada de genio, que representa su visión surrealista del arte.

Se trata de un retrato realizado a través de un proceso creativo basado en el mito del Ave Fénix. En efecto, al igual que esta ave mitológica perece por el fuego y resurge de sus cenizas, los materiales inflamables utilizados en un soporte de madera han sido sometidos a la acción del fuego, transformándose. La reacción al fuego de dichos materiales, utilizados como base, convierte esta obra en única e irrepetible y en una de las más representativas de esta técnica propia que he desarrollado en estos últimos años y que denomino técnica “Fénix”.
